Neil is a multi award-winning filmmaker and producer working across content genres, cultures and time zones. Neil is passionate about nurturing authentic African voices that challenge stereotypes. His films have broadcast on Netflix, Amazon, ARTE, VPRO, Sundance Channel, BBC, PBS, ZDF, FX, NHK and AL JAZEERA, Mnet, Showmax and others. Neil was the lead producer on Netflix’s 2022 hit true-crime series, SENZO: MURDER OF A SOCCER STAR. His documentary INFLUENCE premiered in official competition at Sundance 2020 and broadcast on Arte, eTV and CBC. An undergraduate in Economics and a postgraduate in International Law from the University of Cape Town, Neil has been at the forefront of content entrepreneurship and media advocacy in South Africa, working in challenging spaces across Africa, MENA and Latin America. Neil is currently in production on HALO DAZE, a psychological thriller with US Studio SKG Global, and WILDFIRE unpacking conservation violence in the Congo Basin. He is a founding member of Storyscope and sits on the founding Board of Durban Film Market Institute (DFMI). He is a founding partner of Moon Valley Studios in Johannesburg, and is on the International Emmy’s annual juror panel for global documentary.
