Antoinette Engel has worked in film and television since 2009 with a focus on documentary programming. In 2021 she was one of 12 creative professionals selected for the inaugural edition of the RLNS episodic lab for African writers and development executives in partnership with Netflix. She has co-produced the transnational web series project, Black Women Disrupt The Web, with a showcase on VOD platform, kweli.tv and produced 11 short films by first time female directors for the Female Filmmaker Project in 2019. She is committed to the collaborative spirit that underpins all creative projects and places great value on partnerships. She rejoins Electric South after co-managing Africa’s first-ever free, online, 360 film festival, Electric Africa in 2020, a project borne out of a commitment to build audiences in Africa for virtual reality and 360 content.
