Robyn Humphreys is an Associate Lecturer in the History Department. She is currently completing her PhD in Archaeology. Her research focuses on the relationship between communities and bio-archaeologists in relation to human remains from archaeological sites. She is interested in the history of the disciplines of biological anthropology and archaeology, and how this defines current research practice. She explores these issues through looking at the history of engagement with the dead, some of whom were enslaved, from the Prestwich Place Burial Ground dated to the mid to late 18th century, who found their final resting place in the Prestwich Place Memorial in Green Point.
