Carmen is a freelance illustrator and creative based in Cape Town. She obtained a postgrad diploma in Fine Art (printmaking) from Michaelis, UCT. After realising that fine art wasn’t quite her thing, she met a group of like-minded friends who became colleagues to this day. Since then she’s worked on animation, film, books, magazines and packaging and enjoys the spontaneity of collage art. More recently she started dabbling with artificial intelligence too. Her feminine style is influenced by vintage illustrations, art deco and nouveau, watercolour and fantasy art.
